1. Is ShareKnowledge LMS only available using MOSS, or is WSS a deployment option?
For on-premise deployment, you can deploy ShareKnowledge using WSS or MOSS.
- Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 with service pack 2 or later
- SharePoint Foundation Services 2010
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 with service pack 2 or higher
For SaaS or cloud services, all you really need is a browser (see more about SaaS deployment.)

3. Do you sell and support customers directly, or only through Partners?Both. We sell directly to customers and through partners.
Support: ShareKnowledge Customer Support is available to help you. Our team provides technical support and troubleshoots technical issues related to installing, upgrading and maintaining ShareKnowledge through our Premier Partners that are trained to provide implementation and first level of support services.

4. What is your multi-language support?ShareKnowledge can host any content in any language because it’s a SharePoint application. However, ShareKnowledge specifically supports English and Russian only. Please contact us if you have specific language needs.
5. Is ShareKnowledge LMS a hosted solution?Yes, ShareKnowledge is available as SaaS or through a Hosting Provider. Because ShareKnowledge is based on SharePoint, it is also extendable and customizable if deploy on-premise.
6. Do you have an installation & integration guide for ShareKnowledge LMS?Yes, you can find these guides and more in our Customer Support resources.
7. How does ShareKnowledge LMS integrate with my HR systems?Very well! We are especially excited because ShareKnowledge’s superior integration with your existing systems is not only quick, it’s non-disruptive when deployed on-premise. ShareKnowledge doesn’t require a lengthy, complex integration period because it works seamlessly with your existing Microsoft technologies, and it synchronizes with business and HR systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft and corporate CRM tools.

ShareKnowledge is based on the services and infrastructure of MOSS 2007 (WSS 3.0) and Internet Information Services for user authentication and authorization, as well as for control over the access to sites, lists and document libraries, and interface personalization. Access and authentication to ShareKnowledge is provided by Active Directory (AD), Single Sign On (SSO) services, or a combination of both depending upon your environment and the mix of internal vs. external users.
The following SharePoint Authentication Providers are used most frequently:
- Active Directory provider – a typical provider for a portal internal users authentication, e.g., the organization’s employees;
- SQL Membership Provider – used for Form Based Authentication, when information about users' accounts is stored in a database of a specific structure. It is mostly used for authentication of external users, who are not employees of the organization;
- LDAP provider – used for user authentication by means of directory services using the LDAP protocol. This provider is included in the MOSS 2007 suite and is not included in WSS 3.0.

9. What are the hardware/software requirements for deploying ShareKnowledge LMS on site?At a minimum, you will need the following:

- Operating System Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or later
- Internet Information Services (ISS)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 or later
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (IE) or later
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition or later
- Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 with service pack 2 or later, SharePoint Foundation Services 2010, or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 with service pack 2 or higher
Hardware requirements
- Server with 2.5 GHz or faster processor
- 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 2 GB free disc space for installation and 5 GB or more for data storage.

10. How well does ShareKnowledge LMS work with pop-up blockers?Pop-up blockers should not be a problem. Make sure that you have turned on Java Script and allow pop-up windows.
11. How is content created?You can create e-Learning content as you always do. In other words, you can import SCORM-compliant courses and materials from third parties; or create your own using SCORM authoring tools or Microsoft Office software like PowerPoint.
While ShareKnowledge LMS is compatible with all the most popular third party authoring solutions, you can also use ShareKnowledge Author provided free with our LMS to create more complex and media rich SCORM content. 12. Does ShareKnowledge LMS come with any courseware content?We currently do not develop courseware content for our US-based customers. However, most third party courseware can be imported and managed in ShareKnowledge LMS.
